The VALUE COLLECTION 314-1362 is a round threading die used to cut or recut external threads on bolts, studs, and round stock. It is manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS), which maintains cutting hardness at elevated temperatures generated during threading operations. The die cuts a 9/16-18 UNF right-hand thread and features an adjustable design that allows the operator to fine-tune thread fit by slightly opening or closing the die with a set screw. The 2-inch outside diameter fits standard round die stocks and holders common in machine shops, maintenance environments, and field service kits.
This die is suited for use in metalworking, mechanical maintenance, and fabrication applications where UNF threads must be cut or restored on fasteners and threaded rod. It is appropriate for both shop bench work and on-site repair work. Machinists, millwrights, pipefitters, and general maintenance technicians regularly use round dies of this type when chasing damaged threads or threading new stock to a specific pitch.
Designed as a replacement or supplemental round die for use in standard 2-inch round die stocks and holders that accept 9/16-18 UNF dies.
Round dies are installed and secured in a matching die stock using the stock's set screws before use. Apply cutting oil to the workpiece before threading to reduce heat buildup and extend die life. Ensure the die is started square to the workpiece to prevent crossed or tapered threads. This tooling should be used by qualified machinists or tradespeople familiar with proper threading procedures.
