The VALUE COLLECTION 314-1272 is a round threading die designed to cut external threads on rod, bolt stock, and fastener blanks. Sized for 3/4-16 UNF (Unified Fine) thread, it produces right-hand threads and is constructed from high-speed steel for resistance to heat buildup during cutting. The die is adjustable, allowing the operator to set cutting depth for chasing worn threads or cutting new threads to a precise fit. This type of die is a standard tool in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and trade work where threaded fasteners must be cut or restored on-site.
The 314-1272 is suited for threading mild steel, aluminum, brass, and similar machinable materials in applications that call for 3/4-16 UNF thread form. Typical use cases include fabrication of threaded rod ends, restoration of damaged bolt threads, and production of custom-length fasteners. The right-hand thread direction is the standard for the majority of mechanical and structural fastening applications. It is used by machinists, maintenance technicians, pipefitters, and general tradespeople working with fine-thread fastener stock.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling addition for use with round die stocks and holders sized to accept 3/4-16 UNF round dies.
Round threading dies are installed and used by machinists and tradespeople using a matching die stock or die holder. Secure the die firmly in the holder before use and apply cutting fluid to reduce friction and extend tool life. Start the die squarely on the workpiece to avoid cross-threading. Always clamp the workpiece securely before applying rotational force to the die stock.
