The VALUE COLLECTION 314-1252 is a round threading die designed to cut external threads on bolts, studs, rods, and fasteners. It cuts a 7/16-14 Unified National Coarse (UNC) thread profile in a right-hand direction. Made from high-speed steel (HSS), it holds a cutting edge through repeated use on steel, stainless, and other common workpiece materials. The die is adjustable, allowing the operator to fine-tune thread fit or take light finishing passes after an initial cut. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians use this type of die for both production threading and repair work in shop or field environments.
This die fits standard round die stocks sized for the 7/16-14 UNC application. It is suited for threading mild steel, alloy steel, aluminum, brass, and similar machinable materials in residential maintenance, industrial, and manufacturing contexts. The adjustable design makes it practical for resizing worn or damaged threads on existing fasteners and for cutting clean threads on new stock. Typical applications include machine assembly, equipment repair, and fabrication work where UNC thread standards are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for round die stocks that accept dies for the 7/16-14 UNC thread size.
A licensed machinist or experienced technician should set the die in a properly sized round die stock before use. Apply cutting oil to the workpiece before threading to reduce heat and extend die life. Secure the workpiece in a vise to prevent movement during the threading operation. Back off the die periodically to clear chips and prevent binding, especially on deeper cuts.
