The VALUE COLLECTION 314-1150 is a round threading die used to cut or recut external threads on bolts, rods, and fasteners. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS), it is built to handle the heat and wear generated during threading operations on ferrous and non-ferrous stock. This die cuts a 3/8-24 UNF right-hand thread profile and features an adjustable design that allows the operator to fine-tune thread fit and cutting tension. The 1-inch outside diameter fits standard round die stocks and holders. It is a shop and field tool used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and trade professionals who need to cut or restore precision unified fine threads.
This die is suited for threading 3/8-inch diameter rod, bolt blanks, or studs to a 24 threads-per-inch UNF specification. The adjustable split-die construction allows slight diameter adjustment to achieve a snug or free-running fit as required by the application. Typical use cases include fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and field service work where damaged or custom-length threaded fasteners need to be cut or restored to UNF standards.
Designed as a standard 1-inch OD round die for use in any compatible round die stock or holder that accepts a 1-inch outside diameter die. Cuts 3/8-24 UNF right-hand external threads.
Secure the die firmly in a properly sized die stock before use. Apply cutting fluid to the workpiece before and during threading to reduce heat buildup and extend die life. Start the die square to the workpiece to avoid crooked or damaged threads. High-speed steel dies should not be used dry on hardened steel stock, as this will accelerate edge wear.
