The VALUE COLLECTION 314-1013 is a round threading die designed to cut external threads on fasteners, studs, and round stock. It cuts a 4-36 UNF (Unified National Fine) thread profile with a right-hand thread direction. The die is machined from high-speed steel (HSS), which maintains cutting edge integrity across a broad range of workpiece materials including mild steel, stainless, brass, and aluminum. An adjustable design allows the operator to fine-tune cutting diameter for controlled thread fit or to extend die service life by compensating for wear. Machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance mechanics rely on this type of die for threading operations in both production and repair settings.
This die is suited for threading small-diameter fasteners and hardware components in the 4-36 UNF specification, a fine-pitch thread common in precision assemblies, electronics enclosures, and instrumentation hardware. It is appropriate for benchtop use with a die stock or die holder of the matching outside diameter. Typical applications include fabricating custom-length screws, chasing damaged threads on existing hardware, and prototype or low-volume production threading work.
Designed for use with a die stock or die holder sized to accept this round die outside diameter. Cuts 4-36 UNF external threads on round stock or fastener blanks made from mild steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminum, and similar machinable materials.
Threading dies are installed and operated by machinists or maintenance mechanics using a matching die stock. Secure the workpiece firmly in a vise before beginning the threading operation, and apply cutting oil appropriate for the workpiece material to promote clean thread form and extend die life. Follow standard shop safety practices including eye protection when operating cutting tools. Inspect the die adjusting screw and die body for damage before each use.
