The Value Collection 3114MSL is a 5/16-18 x 7/8 inch fillister head machine screw designed for general fastening applications in metal assemblies, equipment enclosures, and mechanical components. The fillister head profile provides a taller, narrower head than a standard pan head, offering a larger bearing surface while fitting into counterbored recesses. The slotted drive accommodates flat-blade screwdrivers and is a common choice for low-torque applications where over-driving must be avoided. Finished in zinc plating for basic corrosion resistance, this screw is manufactured to ASME B18.6.3 and SAE J82 standards. It is suited for use in light industrial, HVAC equipment assembly, electrical enclosures, and general maintenance work.
This screw is appropriate for residential and commercial trade applications where a 5/16-18 unified coarse thread fastener is required. Typical use cases include securing panels, brackets, and mechanical components on HVAC equipment, electrical enclosures, and light structural assemblies. It is commonly installed by HVAC technicians, electricians, plumbers, and general maintenance mechanics who need a reliable, standards-compliant fastener for steel-to-steel connections. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed as a standard 5/16-18 coarse-thread machine screw suitable for use wherever ASME B18.6.3 fillister head slotted fasteners are specified in equipment assembly or maintenance applications.
Install using a flat-blade screwdriver sized to match the slot width to prevent cam-out and slot damage. Apply appropriate thread engagement depth per ASME guidelines — typically a minimum of one full screw diameter for steel-to-steel connections. De-energize or lock out any equipment before replacing or installing fasteners on energized enclosures or panels, following applicable NFPA 70E safe work practices. Do not exceed the torque capacity of the slotted drive, as over-torquing can strip the slot or damage the receiving threads.
