The VALUE COLLECTION 0003512-MSC 75275586 is a 303 stainless steel rectangular rod suited for precision machining, fabrication, and general metalworking applications. Cut to 72 inches overall length, 1/2 inch wide, and 1/8 inch thick, this flat bar stock ships ready for layout and machining operations. The 303 alloy grade is the standard free-machining stainless, offering good corrosion resistance alongside superior machinability compared to 304 or 316 grades. At 1.28 pounds per piece, it is lightweight enough for single-handed handling during setup. Length tolerance is 3.0000 inches, width tolerance is plus or minus 0.0040 inches, and thickness tolerance is 0.0020 inches.
This rectangular rod is appropriate for shop and field fabrication work where stainless steel corrosion resistance and ease of machining are both required. Common applications include brackets, spacers, shims, slide rails, and custom hardware components in light industrial, HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical assembly contexts. The 6-foot length provides sufficient stock for most custom cut-to-length jobs without the waste associated with longer bar lengths. Machinists, fabricators, and maintenance trades will find this bar stock suitable for lathe, mill, and drill press operations.
Designed as standard 303 stainless steel rectangular bar stock suitable for use in any application requiring free-machining stainless flat bar in 1/2 inch by 1/8 inch cross-section.
Cutting and machining of stainless steel bar stock should be performed by qualified machinists or fabricators using appropriate cutting fluid and tooling rated for stainless alloys. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and cut-resistant gloves when handling or cutting bar stock. Deburr all cut edges before assembly to prevent injury and to ensure proper fit with mating components. Follow applicable shop safety codes and equipment manufacturer guidelines for all machining operations.
