The VALUE COLLECTION 287-6023 is a 2-position tool holder tightening fixture designed for use with BT50 taper tooling. This fixture provides a stable, secure base for tightening and loosening tool holders during insert changes, end mill swaps, and general toolroom maintenance. The head diameter measures 4.4 inches, and the base length is 11.02 inches, giving it a wide, low-profile footprint that resists tipping under torque. Overall height is 198 millimeters. At 33 pounds, the fixture stays put on the bench without clamping. Machinists, tool crib attendants, and CNC setup technicians use this type of fixture to safely seat or break loose retention knobs and collet nuts without damaging the taper or the spindle interface.
This fixture is suited for toolroom and machine shop environments running BT50 tooling on vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, or any spindle accepting the BT50 taper standard. The 2-position design allows the operator to orient the tool holder at two angles, accommodating different holder styles and reducing the need to reposition the fixture during a tool change session. It is a bench-mounted, manual-use fixture intended for shops that change tools frequently and need a dedicated station to do so safely and efficiently.
Designed for use with BT50 taper tool holders. Verify taper compatibility with your specific tool holder style before use.
This is a bench-top fixture and does not require permanent mounting, though securing it to the workbench is recommended in high-production environments. No electrical lockout is required, but the associated machine tool should be powered down and the spindle should be confirmed stationary before removing or installing tool holders. Use a calibrated torque wrench appropriate for the retention knob or collet nut specification called out by the tool holder manufacturer. Do not use the fixture as a vise or general-purpose holding device.
