The VALUE COLLECTION 241313PR is a precision dowel pin designed for accurate alignment and location of mating components in mechanical assemblies. Manufactured from alloy steel to Material Grade 8, this pin meets ASME B18.8.2 dimensional standards and carries a Rockwell hardness of 50-58 HRC for durability under load. At 0.4375 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches in overall length, it delivers tight tolerances with a diameter tolerance of 0.0002 inches. One end is beveled for guided insertion and the opposite end is rounded. Machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance mechanics install these pins to maintain precise hole-to-hole registration in fixtures, dies, and production tooling.
This dowel pin is suited for use in precision machined assemblies where tight positional tolerances are required. Typical applications include fixture plates, mold and die alignment, machine tool components, and structural assembly jigs. The Grade 8 alloy steel construction supports high-load environments where shear resistance and hardness are critical. A double-shear breaking strength of 39,100 pounds indicates the load capacity under transverse force. This part is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed as a standard precision dowel pin per ASME B18.8.2 for use in reamed holes requiring a 0.4375-inch nominal diameter pin in mechanical fixtures, dies, molds, and machined assemblies.
Precision dowel pins are installed by machinists or maintenance mechanics using a press or mallet into reamed holes held to close tolerance. Always ensure the receiving hole is reamed to the correct diameter and is free of burrs, chips, and contamination before pressing the pin. Beveled-end orientation should face the direction of entry to guide alignment. Never drive a hardened pin with impact tools that could damage the pin or bore surface.
