The VALUE COLLECTION 24006290 is a carbide-tipped chucking reamer designed to finish-ream holes to a precise 0.6290-inch diameter. The carbide-tipped cutting edges deliver extended tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials compared to high-speed steel alternatives. Six straight flutes provide smooth chip evacuation and a bright, uncoated finish reduces built-up edge in light-to-medium duty reaming operations. At 9 inches overall length with a 2.25-inch flute length and a straight-cylindrical shank, this reamer mounts directly in a drill press, lathe tailstock, or CNC machining center. Machinists and toolroom technicians install it wherever a tight bore tolerance is required.
This reamer is suited for production and maintenance machining environments where bore diameter must be held to a close tolerance. The 0.6290-inch nominal diameter falls within the Series 2400 range of 0.5000 to 0.6999 inches. Typical applications include finish-reaming bearing bores, bushing fits, and precision dowel-pin holes in both shop and field settings. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional machine spindle rotation. Coolant-through is not supported, so flood or mist coolant applied externally at the cutting zone is the recommended approach for heat management.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers equipped with a chuck or collet that accepts a straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet before use, and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the tool. Do not exceed the machine spindle speed recommended for the workpiece material and reamer diameter, and apply cutting fluid externally at the flute entry point to manage heat and extend tool life.
