The VALUE COLLECTION 230-4301 is a 5C round collet machined from steel for use in collet chucks, collet closers, and indexing fixtures that accept the 5C collet standard. It holds round workpieces at a nominal bore size of 1-1/64 inches with a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0005 inches, making it suitable for precision turning, milling, and grinding operations. The internal thread measures 1.041 inches-24 and the external thread measures 1.242 inches-20, matching standard 5C spindle and closer hardware. Machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators install this collet in production and job-shop environments where repeatable workholding accuracy is required.
This collet is designed for use in manual lathes, CNC lathes, and rotary indexing setups that accept the 5C collet system. It is appropriate for production runs and short-run precision work where consistent grip on round bar stock or turned blanks is needed. The 5C collet system is widely used in both light and medium-duty machining of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed as a standard 5C-pattern round collet for use in any machine tool spindle, collet chuck, or collet closer built to accept the 5C collet form factor.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tool room personnel. The spindle or collet closer must be fully stopped and de-energized before inserting or removing the collet. Clean the collet seat and collet body of chips and debris before seating to avoid false TIR readings or damage to the taper. Do not exceed the rated bore size by forcing oversized stock into the collet, as this will damage the collet and compromise workholding accuracy.
