The VALUE COLLECTION 230-4152 is a 5C round steel collet sized at 13/16 inches, designed for use in 5C collet chucks and closers found on lathes, milling machines, and grinding equipment. Machined from steel, it holds round workpieces with a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0005 inches, providing the concentricity required for precision turning and grinding operations. The internal thread measures 1.041 inches-24 and the external thread measures 1.242 inches-20, conforming to standard 5C interface dimensions. This collet is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in both job shop and production environments.
5C collets are widely used in manual and CNC lathes, indexers, and spin fixtures across light manufacturing, toolroom, and repair applications. The 13/16-inch bore accepts round stock of that diameter, making this collet a direct-fit solution for workholding setups that require repeatable part location and quick changeover. It is suited for short-run and production work where consistent clamping and minimal runout matter.

Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle or collet closer is fully de-energized and at rest before inserting or removing the collet. Clean the collet taper and chuck bore before seating to prevent runout caused by chips or debris. Do not exceed the rated bore size when clamping workpieces, as overloading will damage the collet and reduce holding accuracy.
