The VALUE COLLECTION 222-747 is a taper drill chuck arbor designed to connect a Jacobs Taper 3 (JT3) drill chuck to a machine spindle with a No. 2 Morse Taper (2MT) shank. This arbor serves as the mechanical interface between the chuck and the machine, transmitting torque and maintaining concentricity during drilling operations. It is a standard toolroom component used in drill presses, milling machines, and lathes equipped with a 2MT spindle. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians install this type of arbor when mounting or replacing a JT3-mount chuck on compatible machine spindles.
This arbor fits drilling and boring setups where a No. 2 Morse Taper spindle is present and a JT3 chuck mount is required. It is suited for light-duty to general-purpose drilling applications in production shops, maintenance facilities, and machine tool environments. The self-holding geometry of the Morse Taper shank keeps the arbor seated under normal drilling loads without additional fasteners.
Designed for use with JT3-mount drill chucks on machine spindles with a No. 2 Morse Taper (2MT) bore. Verify both the chuck mount taper and spindle taper before installation.
Installation is performed by machinists or qualified shop personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the arbor. Drive the arbor into the spindle taper with a soft-faced mallet and seat the chuck onto the JT3 taper using a chuck press or mallet strike on a wood block — never strike the chuck jaws directly. Remove the arbor with a drift key through the spindle drift slot; do not pry against the chuck body.
