The VALUE COLLECTION 220-0901 is a 6-position tailstock turret designed for use on manual engine lathes. It mounts via a No. 2 Morse Taper (2MT) shank, seating directly into the tailstock quill in place of a standard dead or live center. The turret head measures 2.5 inches in diameter and accepts tools with a 5/8-inch socket size. With six indexed tool positions, machinists can pre-load multiple cutting, drilling, or reaming tools and rotate through them without removing and re-chucking between operations. This reduces setup time on repetitive short-run turning and boring work.
This tailstock turret is suited for small to medium manual lathes in toolroom, maintenance, and job-shop environments where a single operator handles varied sequential hole and turning operations. It is particularly useful when a series of drilling, countersinking, reaming, or tapping steps must be performed on multiple identical workpieces. Installation and use falls within the scope of a machinist or lathe operator working on equipment with a No. 2 Morse Taper tailstock bore.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or addition for manual engine lathes equipped with a No. 2 Morse Taper tailstock quill bore.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist. Before mounting, fully retract and lock the tailstock quill and ensure the lathe spindle is powered off and at a complete stop. Clean the tailstock bore and the 2MT shank with a lint-free cloth to remove oil, chips, and debris before seating the taper. Never force the taper with a mallet; a firm hand press with a clean, dry bore is sufficient for proper seating.
