The VALUE COLLECTION 21568 is an acid core solder in alloy construction, designed for metal joining applications where flux activation is required during the soldering process. Acid core solder contains an integrated flux core that cleans and prepares metal surfaces as heat is applied, promoting strong, reliable bonds. This format is commonly used in plumbing, sheet metal, and light industrial work where rosin core solder is not appropriate. The 1/8 inch diameter makes it suitable for standard hand soldering tasks requiring controlled material flow.
This solder is used in plumbing and sheet metal trades for joining copper, steel, and other compatible metals. Acid core solder is typically chosen when working with non-electrical metal connections, as the acid flux residue is corrosive and not suitable for electronic or electrical component work. It is sold as a single unit and is appropriate for bench work, field repairs, and general trade use.
Designed for use in non-electrical metal joining applications including plumbing pipe work and sheet metal fabrication. Not intended for use on electrical or electronic components due to corrosive acid flux residue.
Application of acid core solder should be performed by a qualified plumber or sheet metal tradesperson. Ensure all surfaces are clean and properly fitted before applying heat. After soldering, clean all flux residue thoroughly from the joint area, as acid flux is corrosive and will cause long-term damage to metals if left in place. Work in a well-ventilated area and use appropriate personal protective equipment when soldering.
