The VALUE COLLECTION 214-8013 is a standard Morse taper reducing sleeve designed to adapt an MT1 inside taper to an MT3 outside taper. It allows tooling with a smaller Morse taper shank to seat securely in a larger-taper machine spindle or tailstock. The sleeve features a soft body with a hardened tang for reliable drive and easy ejection. With an overall length of 99mm and a body diameter of 24.1mm, this sleeve is dimensionally consistent with standard toolroom practice. It is suited for use in machine shops, toolrooms, and production environments where mixed-taper tooling requires adaptation without a full sleeve stack.
This reducing sleeve is applicable in drill presses, lathes, milling machines, and boring mills that use MT3 spindles or tailstocks. It accepts MT1 shank tooling such as drill chucks, live centers, step drills, and reamers. The 1/4 inch tang projection allows for standard knockout bar removal without damage to the sleeve or spindle bore. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers in both job-shop and production settings.
Designed as a standard OEM-style reducing sleeve for machine tool spindles and tailstocks with an MT3 receiving taper, accepting tooling with an MT1 shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Power down and lock out the machine before inserting or removing the sleeve. Clean both the sleeve taper and the spindle bore thoroughly before seating to ensure full contact and prevent fretting. Use a standard knockout bar aligned with the tang slot to remove the sleeve — never use side impact or prying force on the sleeve body.
