The VALUE COLLECTION 20802 is a mechanics-length high speed steel drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal and ferrous materials. It measures 0.221 inches in diameter with a 3-7/8 inch overall length and a 2-3/8 inch flute length. The 135-degree split point reduces walking on contact, allowing the bit to engage the workpiece without a center punch in many applications. The oxide finish provides moderate corrosion resistance and reduces friction during cutting. Right-hand spiral flutes evacuate chips cleanly during operation. This bit is suited for machinists, maintenance technicians, fabricators, and trade professionals who need a reliable general-purpose bit for production or field use.
This mechanics drill bit is intended for drilling carbon steel, cast iron, high alloy steel, high tensile strength alloys, stainless steel, and similar ferrous materials. The shorter mechanics length compared to jobber-length bits provides added rigidity, making it well suited for drilling in tight spaces or on drill presses where chatter and deflection need to be minimized. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw drill chucks used in hand drills, drill presses, and CNC equipment. It is a general-purpose bit appropriate for shop, field, and maintenance applications across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fabrication trades.
Designed for general-purpose use in carbon steel, cast iron, high alloy steel, high tensile strength alloys, and stainless steel workpieces. Fits any standard three-jaw drill chuck accepting a straight-cylindrical shank.
Install into a properly sized three-jaw chuck and tighten securely before operation. Always wear appropriate eye protection when drilling metal. Use cutting fluid when drilling stainless steel or high alloy steel to extend bit life and manage heat. Secure the workpiece before drilling to prevent rotation and injury.
