The VALUE COLLECTION 204-852 is a serrated soft lathe chuck jaw designed for use with 3-jaw lathe chucks in machine shop and metalworking applications. Constructed from steel, this square-profile jaw provides reliable clamping force through its serrated interface, which mates with the chuck scroll or master jaw to transfer torque during turning operations. The jaw measures 1.574 inches wide, 2 inches in overall height, and 4.33 inches in overall length. Mount hole centers are spaced 1.1811 inches apart, with a groove width of 0.6299 inches. Machinists typically bore soft jaws to a custom diameter on the lathe itself, allowing precise workpiece fitment without damaging finished surfaces.
This jaw is suited for use on manual and CNC lathes in production machining, toolroom, and repair environments. It is compatible with lathe chucks ranging from 10 inches to 11 inches in diameter. The serrated jaw interface type is common in industrial chuck systems where a positive grip between the soft jaw and master jaw is required. Sold individually, this jaw is typically purchased in sets of three to complete a full 3-jaw chuck configuration.
Compatible with lathe chucks having a minimum chuck diameter of 10 inches and a maximum chuck diameter of 11 inches, using a 3-jaw configuration with a serrated jaw interface and 12 millimeter fastener size.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the lathe fully powered down and at a complete stop before handling chuck components. Confirm that jaw serrations and master jaw serrations are fully seated and that all fasteners are properly secured before resuming operation. Soft jaws must be bored in-place on the chuck at the intended clamping diameter to ensure accurate part holding. Follow the machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when mounting or removing chuck jaws.
