The VALUE COLLECTION 204-3240 is an ER32 series collet designed for use in milling, drilling, and turning applications that require precise tool holding. This collet accepts a 0.625 inch (5/8 inch) shank and delivers a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0005 inches, making it suitable for work that demands close tolerances. The ER32 collet format is a widely adopted standard in CNC machining and manual milling centers. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this collet into a compatible ER32 collet chuck to secure cutting tools, drills, reamers, or taps during machining operations.
This collet is used in machine shops, production facilities, and toolroom environments where ER32 collet chucks are in service. It is appropriate for both light-duty and moderate-duty cutting operations on CNC machining centers, manual mills, and lathes equipped with an ER32-compatible spindle or chuck. The 0.625 inch bore size accommodates standard 5/8 inch round shank tooling commonly used in these environments.
Designed as a standard ER32 collet for use with ER32-compatible collet chucks and toolholders that accept a 0.625 inch round shank tool.
ER32 collets are installed and removed by machinists and toolroom technicians using a collet nut and the appropriate spanner wrench for the ER32 chuck body. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing collets. Inspect the collet bore and seating taper for chips, burrs, or wear before installation, as contamination will increase runout beyond the rated TIR. Do not exceed the collet clamping range or use the collet to hold tooling outside the rated bore size.
