The VALUE COLLECTION 204-2028 is an ER20 series collet designed to hold workpieces or cutting tools with a shank diameter of 0.4374 inches (7/16 inch) in compatible ER20 collet chucks. It delivers a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0005 inches, supporting accurate, repeatable tool holding in CNC machining, manual milling, and drilling operations. Machinists and tool room technicians install this collet as part of a standard ER collet and chuck system. The precision ground bore and controlled TIR make it suitable for finishing passes and close-tolerance work where tool concentricity is critical.
This collet is used in machine shop environments running ER20-compatible collet chucks on CNC machining centers, knee mills, drill presses, and lathes with live tooling. It fits standard ER20 chuck bodies and is appropriate for both production and job shop applications where a 0.4374-inch or 7/16-inch tool shank must be held securely. It is sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit collet for any ER20-standard collet chuck system requiring a 0.4374-inch (7/16-inch) bore size.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool room technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing collets. Inspect the collet and chuck bore for chips or debris before seating the collet, and torque the retention nut to the chuck manufacturer's specification using the correct ER20 spanner wrench. Do not use damaged or worn collets, as reduced clamping force and increased runout can result.
