The VALUE COLLECTION 2-SC-25F-37 is a 1/4-28 x 3/8-inch cup point set screw manufactured from Grade 316 stainless steel with a bright, uncoated finish. Set screws are headless fasteners used to secure a component — such as a collar, gear, pulley, or hub — to a shaft by applying direct point pressure against the mating surface. The cup point geometry bites into the shaft to resist rotational and axial movement. Grade 316 stainless provides strong corrosion resistance, making this fastener well suited for wet, chemical, or marine-adjacent environments where carbon steel would corrode. Drive is hex (Allen key), keeping the profile fully below the surface of the threaded bore.
This set screw is used across a broad range of mechanical and trade applications including HVAC equipment assembly, pump and motor shaft retention, plumbing fixture hardware, and light electrical enclosure components. The fine 1/4-28 thread pitch offers precise torque control and strong thread engagement in thin-walled or precision-machined components. Grade 316 stainless construction makes it appropriate for outdoor units, pool and spa equipment, and other installations where moisture or mild chemical exposure is a concern. This SKU is sold individually but is subject to a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Designed as a standard 1/4-28 cup point set screw for use in any threaded bore requiring that thread size and a headless fastener profile. Verify bore thread specification and material compatibility before installation.
Installation requires a correctly sized hex (Allen) key or hex bit driver. Always de-energize and lock out any equipment before servicing shaft-mounted components secured by set screws. Do not over-tighten — apply only enough torque to seat the cup point against the shaft without deforming the bore threads. For critical torque-sensitive assemblies, consult the equipment manufacturer's service documentation.
