The VALUE COLLECTION 2-H-87C-325 is a partially threaded hex head cap screw designed for industrial and mechanical fastening applications. Built from Grade 316 stainless steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this fastener delivers strong corrosion resistance in wet, chemical, and marine environments. The screw measures 7/8-9 thread size with a 3.25 inches length under head. The partial thread configuration provides a smooth shank section, which is ideal for applications requiring bolt alignment, shear loading, or clamping without full thread engagement through the joint. Maintenance technicians, pipefitters, and structural assemblers rely on this type of fastener across a wide range of commercial and industrial installations.
This hex head cap screw is suited for use in corrosive or high-moisture environments where standard carbon steel fasteners would degrade. Typical applications include pump and valve assembly, marine hardware mounting, food processing equipment, chemical processing piping flanges, and pool or water treatment infrastructure. The 7/8-9 Unified National Coarse (UNC) thread pattern is widely compatible with standard hex nuts, washers, and tapped holes machined to ASME specifications. It is sold individually, making it a practical solution for replacement and low-quantity service work.
Designed for use with standard 7/8-9 UNC hex nuts, flat washers, and tapped holes conforming to ASME B18.2.1 hex cap screw standards. Suitable as a direct replacement in any assembly calling for a partially threaded 7/8-9 x 3-1/4 inch Grade 316 stainless steel hex cap screw.
Installation should be performed by qualified mechanical or trade personnel familiar with bolted joint assembly practices. Always degrease or clean mating threads before installation, and apply an appropriate anti-seize compound when fastening stainless steel to stainless steel components to prevent galling. Torque to the value specified by the equipment manufacturer or applicable engineering standard for the joint. Do not use impact tools at full torque on stainless fasteners without proper torque control to avoid thread damage.
