The VALUE COLLECTION 183-6478 is a single-end corner rounding end mill designed to produce consistent radius profiles on workpiece edges in milling operations. Built from M2 high speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this tool offers improved surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS. It features a 2-1/4 inch mill diameter with a 3/4 inch corner radius and a 1 inch shank diameter. Four right-hand flutes with a right-hand cutting direction deliver smooth chip evacuation and stable cutting performance across a range of materials. This end mill is suited for manual mills and CNC machining centers used by machinists and tool and die professionals.
This corner rounding end mill is used in general machining applications where edge-breaking or radius profiling is required on metal workpieces. It is well suited for production work in job shops, tool rooms, and maintenance machining environments. The single-end configuration makes it a standard choice for vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers operating on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The TiN coating extends tool life in medium-duty cutting conditions where uncoated HSS would wear more rapidly.
Designed as a standard single-end corner rounding end mill compatible with milling machine spindles and CNC machining centers that accept a 1 inch shank diameter via collet chuck, end mill holder, or Weldon-style holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the tool holder to the recommended gauge length and torque the set screw or collet nut per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and TiN coating for chips or wear before each use and replace the tool when edge condition degrades to avoid poor surface finish or workpiece damage.
