The VALUE COLLECTION 183-6247 is a single-end corner rounding end mill designed to produce smooth, consistent radius profiles on workpiece edges in milling operations. Built from M2 high speed steel and coated with titanium nitride (TiN), it delivers improved wear resistance and longer tool life compared to uncoated HSS. The cutter measures 1.25 inches in diameter with a 3/8-inch corner radius and a 1/2-inch shank diameter. Four right-hand flutes with right-hand cutting direction provide efficient chip evacuation and a clean radius form in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. At 0.5 pounds, it is a solid, well-balanced tool suited for manual mills and CNC machining centers.
This corner rounding end mill is used in general machining, toolroom work, and production environments where edge-breaking or full-radius profiling is required. It is appropriate for milling mild steel, aluminum, brass, and similar materials where an M2 HSS tool is rated for the application. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians typically apply this cutter in bridgeport-style knee mills or CNC vertical machining centers when a 3/8-inch radius edge profile is called out on a print. The single-end configuration keeps the tool compact for standard collet or end mill holder setups.
Designed as a standard corner rounding end mill compatible with any milling machine or machining center equipped with an end mill holder or collet chuck accepting a 1/2-inch shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware to the holder manufacturer specification. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the material being cut and the tool diameter before engaging the cutter.
