The VALUE COLLECTION 16431 is a steel 45-degree flared tube elbow fitting designed for use in hydraulic, refrigeration, and fluid transfer lines where a secure angled connection is required. The fitting features a 1/4-inch tube outside diameter and a 7/16-20 thread on both ends. One end uses a 37-degree flare connection and the other uses an O-ring boss (ORB) thread standard, providing a reliable, leak-resistant joint. This type of fitting is commonly installed by HVAC technicians, plumbers, and hydraulic system mechanics working on tubing assemblies that require a directional change at a 45-degree angle.
This elbow fitting is suited for residential and light commercial applications involving copper, aluminum, or steel tubing with a 1/4-inch outside diameter. The 37-degree flare angle conforms to standard SAE flare specifications used widely in refrigeration and hydraulic circuits. The ORB end threads into a port boss, compressing an O-ring for a vibration-resistant, pressure-rated seal. Typical installation scenarios include HVAC refrigerant line routing, hydraulic equipment plumbing, and fluid power systems where a 45-degree directional change is needed within a confined space.
Designed as a standard SAE 37-degree flare x ORB replacement fitting for use with 1/4-inch OD tubing in hydraulic, refrigeration, and fluid transfer applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician, hydraulic mechanic, or licensed plumber familiar with flare fittings and ORB port connections. De-pressurize and isolate the system fully before removing or installing any fitting. Verify that the mating tube end is cut square, deburred, and properly flared to 37 degrees before assembly. Do not overtighten ORB port connections; confirm O-ring is seated correctly before torquing to the port manufacturer's specification.
