The VALUE COLLECTION 15450 is a solid carbide spotting drill designed to create precise center marks and cone-shaped pilot seats before through-hole drilling operations. With a 90-degree point angle and a 0.125-inch cutting diameter, this tool produces accurate, repeatable spotting indentations that guide twist drills and reduce walking on flat or curved workpiece surfaces. The bright, uncoated finish suits general-purpose machining in a wide range of materials. It is a single-ended tool with right-hand cutting direction and a spiral flute configuration, intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals operating CNC machining centers or manual mills.
This spotting drill fits standard general-purpose machining applications in job shops, maintenance shops, and production environments. Its 0.125-inch straight cylindrical shank seats directly into collet chucks and drill chucks commonly found on vertical machining centers and drill presses. The 2.5-inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard fixture setups without excessive overhang. The 1.625-inch flute length accommodates chip clearance during the short-depth spotting cycle typical of this tool type.
Designed as a general-purpose spotting drill for use in collet chucks and drill chucks accepting a 0.125-inch straight cylindrical shank on CNC machining centers, knee mills, and drill presses.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or removing the tool from the chuck. Seat the shank fully into the collet or chuck and tighten to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque range. Set spindle speed and feed rate according to the carbide tool manufacturer's recommendations for the specific workpiece material before beginning the spotting cycle.
