The VALUE COLLECTION 15288 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing coupling with slip ends, designed to connect a 2-inch pipe to a 1-1/2-inch pipe in a single fitting. This type of coupling is a standard component in low-pressure drain, waste, vent, and cold-water supply systems. Molded from rigid PVC, it delivers corrosion resistance and chemical compatibility suited to residential and light commercial plumbing. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting during new construction and repair work where a pipe diameter reduction is required inline.
This reducing coupling is used in residential and commercial plumbing systems wherever a transition from 2-inch to 1-1/2-inch PVC piping is needed. Typical applications include drain and waste lines, irrigation laterals, and low-pressure cold-water distribution. The slip-end configuration accepts solvent-cement joining, which is the standard installation method for Schedule 40 PVC systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for Schedule 40 PVC piping systems using 2-inch and 1-1/2-inch nominal pipe sizes.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters following applicable sections of the International Plumbing Code. Before cutting into an existing line, shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure. Clean and dry pipe ends completely, apply PVC primer, then apply solvent cement to both the pipe and fitting socket before joining. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before restoring flow or pressure to the line.
