With a 0.4980-inch cutting diameter and an 8-inch overall length (OAL), this reamer is built for use in machine tool spindles, CNC machining centers, drill presses, and lathes. The straight flute geometry and bright uncoated finish make it well suited for reaming softer ferrous and non-ferrous materials where chip evacuation is straightforward. The straight-cylindrical shank seats cleanly in standard chucks or collets. This part is also designated as a dowel pin reamer at the 0.4980 D/P size, making it appropriate for precision hole fitting work where dowel pin seating tolerance is critical.
This chucking reamer is used in general machining, tool and die, fixture building, and maintenance-repair-overhaul (MRO) environments.
