The VALUE COLLECTION 14442960276400S is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed to bring bored or drilled holes to precise final diameter. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers reliable performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials across machine shop and maintenance applications. The reamer measures 27/64 inch (0.4219 inch decimal) in diameter, with an overall length of 7 inches and a 1-3/4 inch flute length. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill press chucks, lathes, or milling machine collets. Right-hand spiral flutes with right-hand cutting direction clear chips effectively and produce a smooth, accurate bore finish.
This chucking reamer is suited for machine shop production work, toolroom operations, and maintenance-repair applications where hole tolerance and surface finish are critical. It is appropriate for use in drill presses, lathes, and milling machines operating at appropriate speeds for the material being reamed. The 27/64 inch size is a common diameter in general fastener, pin, and bushing-fit applications. At 0.21 pounds, it is easy to handle and load into standard toolholding setups without additional support.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer for use in machine tools that accept straight-cylindrical shank tooling, including drill presses, engine lathes, and vertical milling machines.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable limits to maintain hole accuracy. Always reduce spindle speed relative to drilling and apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material. Never attempt to remove significant stock with a reamer; pre-drill or bore the hole to within a few thousandths of final size before reaming.
