The VALUE COLLECTION 14442960038000S is a high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed to finish-size drilled or bored holes to precise tolerances. With a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch decimal) cutting diameter, a 7 inch overall length (OAL), and a 1-3/4 inch flute length, this reamer delivers accurate hole sizing in metals, plastics, and composite materials. The bright, uncoated HSS construction provides good edge retention across a wide range of workpiece materials. Machinists, toolroom operators, and maintenance technicians install this tool in drill presses, lathes, or CNC machining centers where consistent bore finish and dimensional accuracy are required.
This chucking reamer is suited for general-purpose reaming operations in job shops, production machining environments, and maintenance repair settings. The straight-cylindrical shank allows direct mounting in standard drill chucks, collets, or floating reamer holders. Right-hand spiral flutes with right-hand cutting direction pull chips efficiently through the cut, reducing chatter and improving surface finish. Applications include sizing holes for dowel pins, bushings, and close-tolerance fastener bores in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer for use in drill presses, engine lathes, turret lathes, and CNC machining centers equipped with standard straight-shank toolholders or drill chucks accepting 3/8 inch shank diameters.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with reaming operations and machine tool safety. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the reamer. Use a floating reamer holder where possible to compensate for minor misalignment and prevent tool breakage. Always run reamers at reduced speeds compared to drilling, and apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish.
