The VALUE COLLECTION 144429600380000 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled or bored holes to a precise 0.3750 inch diameter. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers clean, accurate hole geometry in a wide range of metals and plastics. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in a drill press chuck, lathe tailstock, or CNC collet. With a 7 inch overall length and a 1.75 inch flute length, it provides adequate chip clearance and rigidity for through-holes and shallow blind holes in production and maintenance machining environments. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. Machinists and tool-room technicians are the primary users.
This reamer is suited for general-purpose finishing operations where hole tolerance and surface finish matter. Typical applications include sizing holes for close-tolerance dowel pins, bushings, and bearing seats in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. It is appropriate for job-shop, maintenance-repair-operations (MRO), and light production use in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and industrial maintenance departments. The 3/8 inch diameter falls within the 0.3500 to 0.3999 inch diameter range, making it a standard size for common fastener and pin clearance work.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers equipped with a straight-shank chuck or collet capable of accepting a 3/8 inch cylindrical shank.
Chucking reamers are installed by machinists and tool-room technicians. Secure the shank firmly in a drill chuck, ER collet, or lathe tailstock before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable limits to avoid oversize or out-of-round holes. Always apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material and operate at reduced spindle speeds compared to drilling. Never force or deflect the reamer axially; allow it to follow the existing hole centerline.
