The VALUE COLLECTION 144429600020000 is a wire-gauge chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal and light alloy workpieces. Sized to wire gauge No. 20, it cuts to a nominal diameter of 0.1610 inches, placing it in the 0.1500 to 0.1999 inch decimal range. The reamer is ground from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, providing adequate wear resistance for general-purpose reaming operations. Overall length is 4.5 inches with a 1.125-inch straight flute length, and the straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly in drill chucks, collets, or floating holders. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this reamer in drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers to bring drilled or bored holes to final dimensional tolerance.
This chucking reamer suits production and toolroom environments where holes must be brought to a consistent finish diameter at the No. 20 wire gauge size. Typical applications include jig and fixture work, dowel pin fitting, and through-hole finishing in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and brass. The straight flute geometry works well in short-chipping materials and allows easy chip evacuation in through-hole operations. It is sold as a single-piece unit with a minimum order quantity of one, making it suitable for both low-volume toolroom use and repetitive production reaming.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer for use in drill presses, engine lathes, turret lathes, and CNC machining centers equipped with drill chucks or collet holders sized to accept a straight-cylindrical shank in the 0.1500 to 0.1999 inch diameter class.
Chucking reamers are installed by machinists and toolroom technicians following standard machine shop practice. Secure the shank fully in a drill chuck, collet, or floating reamer holder before powering the spindle; never run a reamer in a loose or improperly tightened holder. Always remove the workpiece from service and de-energize the machine before changing tooling. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain surface finish quality.
