The VALUE COLLECTION 1423 is a metric hex socket cap screw designed for precision fastening in mechanical assemblies, fabrication work, and equipment maintenance. It features an M8 x 1.25 thread and a 100 mm length under head with partial threading, making it well suited for applications where a clamping zone is required near the head. The fastener is manufactured from 18-8 austenitic stainless steel (Material Grade A2) with a bright, uncoated finish. It conforms to DIN 912 dimensional standards. Installers drive it with a standard hex (Allen) key. This screw is sold individually but must be ordered in multiples of 10.
This screw is used in general industrial, mechanical, and maintenance applications where corrosion resistance and dimensional consistency matter. The stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for use in moist or chemically exposed environments such as food-processing equipment, marine hardware, and fluid-handling systems. The DIN 912 standard ensures dimensional interchangeability with other compliant hardware. It is commonly installed by millwrights, pipefitters, machinists, and maintenance technicians working on equipment frames, flanges, and structural assemblies.
Designed as a DIN 912-compliant M8 x 1.25 hex socket cap screw suitable for any standard M8 x 1.25 tapped hole or through-bolted assembly requiring a partially threaded fastener.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician or machinist familiar with metric fastener standards. Ensure the receiving thread is clean and free of debris before driving the screw. Use a correctly sized metric hex key or hex bit socket to avoid rounding the drive recess. Torque to the value specified by the equipment manufacturer for M8 Grade A2 stainless fasteners; do not over-torque, as stainless steel fasteners are susceptible to galling without the use of an appropriate anti-seize compound.
