The VALUE COLLECTION 141157PR is a half dog point set screw designed for mechanical assemblies where a locating or locking function is required without a protruding fastener head. Manufactured from Grade 8 alloy steel, this screw offers high tensile strength suited for demanding industrial and trade applications. It features a 3/8-16 UNC thread and measures 1/2 inch in overall length. The half dog point provides a short cylindrical tip that seats into a mating hole or recess, preventing rotational or axial movement of shafts, collars, and similar components. Drive is a 3/16-inch hex socket, compatible with standard hex keys and Allen-drive tools. It meets ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM F912 standards.
This set screw is used in mechanical and industrial maintenance applications including shaft-to-collar connections, pulley assemblies, gear hubs, and similar rotating or sliding component interfaces. It is well suited for HVAC equipment assemblies, pump shaft collars, fan hubs, and general mechanical drive systems where flush or recessed fastening is required. Installation is performed by machinists, millwrights, HVAC technicians, and maintenance professionals. Sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces.
Designed as a standard replacement or stocking fastener for any assembly requiring a 3/8-16 UNC half dog point set screw per ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM F912 specifications.
Installation requires a 3/16-inch hex key or Allen-drive tool torqued to the assembly specification defined by the equipment manufacturer. Always de-energize and lock out equipment before servicing shaft collars, hubs, or drive components. Ensure the mating recess or dog point hole in the shaft is clean and properly sized before seating the point. Do not exceed the torque rating of the tapped hole material, particularly in softer substrates such as aluminum or brass.
