The VALUE COLLECTION -13269-3G is a black-finish malleable iron 90 degree reducing elbow designed for threaded pipe assemblies in gas and liquid distribution systems. It transitions from a 1/2 inch female threaded inlet to a 3/8 inch female threaded outlet at a right angle, making it useful wherever a directional change and a pipe size reduction are needed in a single fitting. Rated Class 150 with a liquid and gas pressure rating of 300 psi, this fitting is appropriate for low-pressure piping runs in residential and light commercial installations. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians are the primary installers. The black finish is standard for gas service applications.
This reducing elbow is suited for threaded black iron pipe systems used in natural gas, propane, compressed air, and water distribution applications. Its reducing configuration allows a branch or terminal connection to step down from 1/2 inch to 3/8 inch pipe without requiring a separate bushing or coupling. Typical install scenarios include gas appliance drop lines, air compressor distribution manifolds, and low-pressure steam or water systems in residential and light commercial settings. Each order ships in a quantity of 5 fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 1/2 inch by 3/8 inch threaded black iron pipe systems rated at Class 150 or below.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or gas fitters in accordance with applicable local codes, the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), or the International Plumbing Code (IPC) depending on the service. Shut off and verify zero pressure in the line before disassembling any existing fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service medium before making up the joint. Do not over-tighten malleable iron fittings, as excessive force can crack the casting.
