The VALUE COLLECTION 13124D is a Class 150 malleable iron square plug fitting designed to seal off 1-inch threaded pipe ends in plumbing, mechanical, and industrial piping systems. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance in both exposed and concealed installations. Rated at 300 psi for liquid and gas service and 150 psi for steam, this plug handles a wide range of service conditions. It is installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors as a dead-end closure on threaded iron pipe systems.
This square plug is suited for residential and commercial piping applications involving water, gas, and low-pressure steam distribution. The 1-inch fitting size makes it a common choice for branch line closures, test ports, and system isolation points on threaded black or galvanized iron pipe assemblies. It is typically installed during rough-in or system commissioning to cap unused outlets or temporarily seal lines pending future connections.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit component for Class 150 threaded malleable iron pipe systems requiring a 1-inch square plug closure.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC and IFGC code requirements for threaded iron pipe. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any threaded plug. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before seating the plug. Use a pipe wrench sized for the fitting — do not over-torque, as malleable iron threads can crack under excessive force.
