The VALUE COLLECTION 1230-4251 is a 5C round collet machined from steel, designed for use in 5C collet chucks, collet blocks, and spin fixtures on lathes and milling machines. It accepts round workpieces and provides a Total Indicator Runout (TIR) of 0.015 mm, delivering the concentricity required for precision turning and grinding operations. The internal thread measures 1.041 inches at 24 threads per inch, and the external thread measures 1.242 inches at 20 threads per inch. Machinists and tool-room technicians install this collet when holding round stock or finished cylindrical parts where accuracy and repeatability matter.
This 5C round collet is suited for use in manual lathes, CNC lathes with 5C nose attachments, rotary tables, and collet blocks in a machine shop environment. It is a standard 5C-format collet, making it compatible with the broad range of 5C-compatible workholding equipment found in both job shops and production environments. The 27 mm collet size accommodates round stock at that nominal diameter.
Designed as a standard 5C-format replacement or spare collet for use in 5C collet chucks, collet blocks, and rotary fixtures that accept the 5C collet standard.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tool-room technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the collet. Ensure the collet bore, chuck nose, and draw tube threads are clean and free of chips before seating the collet. Do not exceed the collet's rated capacity, as overloading a collet bore can cause workpiece slippage and damage the collet taper.
