The VALUE COLLECTION 1230-4211 is a 5C round collet machined from steel for use in 5C-compatible spindles and collet chucks. It accepts a 7.00 mm workpiece and holds it with a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.015 mm, making it suitable for precision turning, milling, and grinding operations. The internal thread measures 1.041 inches-24 and the external thread measures 1.242 inches-20, conforming to standard 5C collet geometry. The part weighs 0.5 pounds. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers.
This collet is intended for use in manual lathes, CNC turning centers, indexing fixtures, and collet-closer systems that accept the 5C collet standard. It is well suited to production and job-shop environments where consistent, repeatable workholding on small-diameter round stock is required. The 7.00 mm bore diameter targets metric workpiece stock commonly found in precision machining applications.
Designed as a standard-geometry replacement or additional collet for machine tool spindles and workholding fixtures built to the 5C collet standard.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Before inserting or removing any collet, confirm the spindle is fully stopped and all energy sources are locked out or tagged out per shop safety procedures. Inspect the collet bore and spindle taper for chips or burrs before seating the collet. Do not exceed the rated bore capacity, as oversize stock will damage the collet and spindle.
