The VALUE COLLECTION 1230-4201 is a 5C round collet machined from steel, designed for use in 5C-compatible spindles, collet chucks, and indexing fixtures found in manual and CNC turning, milling, and grinding setups. The collet accepts a 2.00 mm round workpiece and holds a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.015 mm, delivering the precision grip needed for close-tolerance turning and secondary operations. The internal thread measures 1.041 inches at 24 threads per inch, and the external thread measures 1.242 inches at 20 threads per inch. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this collet as a direct-fit workholding solution wherever a 5C nose is present.
This collet is suited for small-diameter round stock operations in production shops, job shops, and toolrooms running lathes, screw machines, or collet-style milling fixtures. The 2.00 mm capacity makes it a practical choice for precision work on small-diameter pins, shafts, and similar cylindrical parts. It ships individually, making it easy to add a single size to an existing 5C set without purchasing a complete range.
Designed as a standard 5C-form collet for use in any machine tool spindle, chuck, or fixture built to the 5C collet standard.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Before inserting or removing a collet, power down the machine and confirm the spindle has come to a complete stop. Use the appropriate collet closer or draw tube and avoid over-tightening, which can distort the collet bore and reduce holding accuracy. Inspect the collet bore and spindle nose for chips or debris before seating the collet to protect TIR performance.
