The VALUE COLLECTION 112369106 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for single-point turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured to ANSI insert code TPGB321 and ISO insert code TPGB160304, this triangular insert features a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch) inscribed circle, a 1/64 inch (0.0156 inch) corner radius, and a positive side clearance angle of 11 degrees. The manufacturer grade I55 carbide substrate corresponds to a material grade of C6, making it suited for general-purpose turning of steel and ferrous workpiece materials. A chip breaker geometry (code B) is integrated into the insert face to promote controlled chip evacuation during cutting.
This insert is intended for use in external and internal turning applications where a 60-degree triangular insert profile is required. The screw-on holding method (hole diameter 0.1180 inch) allows for secure clamping in compatible TPGB-style toolholders. The positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces, which is beneficial in finishing and light roughing passes on steel components. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC programmers working in production or job-shop environments will find this insert appropriate for medium-duty turning tasks where dimensional consistency across the insert run matters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use turning insert for TPGB-style screw-on toolholders accepting a 321 ANSI size code insert with a 3/8 inch inscribed circle and 1/8 inch insert thickness.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and locked out before indexing or replacing the insert. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamp screw to secure the insert in the toolholder pocket — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can fracture under excessive clamping force. Inspect the toolholder pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating the insert to ensure proper contact and repeatability.
