The VALUE COLLECTION 112074636 is a solid carbide turning insert designated by ANSI code TPMR321 and ISO code TPMR160304, finished with a CVD-applied TiC and TiN dual coating under manufacturer grade TCN55. The insert features a 60-degree triangular shape with a positive side clearance and an 11-degree relief angle, making it suited for general turning operations on steel and stainless workpiece materials. The inscribed circle measures 0.375 inches, insert thickness is 0.125 inches, and the corner radius is 0.0157 inches (1/64 inch). Machining shops and CNC operators install this insert into compatible TPMR-style toolholders using a clamp holding method.
This insert is designed for turning applications on primary workpiece material codes M and P, which correspond broadly to stainless steels and carbon and alloy steels. It carries material grades C5, C6, and C7, indicating suitability for finishing to semi-roughing cuts at moderate to higher cutting speeds. The chip breaker designation is R, which supports controlled chip formation during continuous or light interrupted cuts. It is sold individually but is subject to a minimum order quantity of 10 units per transaction.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for TPMR321-style insert seats in TPMR clamp-style toolholders. ISO equivalent code is TPMR160304. Suitable for toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 1/8-inch thick triangular insert with positive clearance geometry.
Turning inserts should be installed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked before changing tooling. Use the appropriate clamp screw and torque driver specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert securely without over-tightening. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Always verify feed rate and depth-of-cut parameters against the grade and workpiece material before resuming cutting operations.
