The VALUE COLLECTION 112074609 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI code TPMR321 and ISO code TPMR160304, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured in grade I22 with a bright, uncoated finish, this insert features a 60-degree triangular shape, a 3/8 inch (0.3752 inch decimal) inscribed circle, and a 1/64 inch (0.0157 inch decimal) corner radius. The 11-degree relief angle and positive side clearance geometry reduce cutting forces and improve chip evacuation. Insert thickness is 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch decimal) and overall length is 16.5 mm. It is held in place by a clamp-style toolholder and suits applications requiring tight tolerance M and clearance P specifications.
This insert is suited for turning, profiling, and light contouring operations on a range of workpiece materials. Per the primary workpiece material codes K, M, N, and S, it is compatible with cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous materials, and heat-resistant superalloys. Material grade C2 positions it for general-purpose and finishing cuts. The chip breaker designation R supports controlled chip flow in these applications. Typical users include CNC machinists, tool-and-die shops, and production turning operations in industrial and manufacturing environments.
Designed for use in TPMR-style clamp toolholders accepting a 321 ANSI size code insert. Compatible with workpiece material groups K (cast iron), M (stainless steel), N (non-ferrous), and S (heat-resistant superalloys) as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with insert indexing and toolholder clamping procedures. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamp are clean and free of debris before installation. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when handling carbide inserts, as edges are extremely sharp.
