The VALUE COLLECTION 111269PR is a 1/4-28 x 3/8-inch alloy steel set screw with a knurled cup point, designed for secure clamping and positioning of shaft-mounted components. Rated Grade 8, this fastener delivers high tensile strength suitable for demanding mechanical assemblies. The 1/8-inch hex drive accepts a standard hex key for installation in confined spaces. Manufactured to ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM F912 standards, this screw meets recognized industry specifications for socket set screws used in precision mechanical and industrial applications. Machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians use this type of fastener when securing collars, hubs, pulleys, or gears to shafts without a protruding head.
This set screw is suited for use in equipment assemblies where a flush or below-surface fastener is required. The knurled cup point bites into the shaft surface to resist rotational and axial movement, making it a common choice in motor mounts, conveyor components, and light industrial machinery. The UNF 1/4-28 thread size is a fine-pitch designation, offering greater thread engagement and resistance to loosening under vibration. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces, this fastener is intended for shop stock, maintenance kits, or production assembly.
Designed as a standard ASME/ANSI B18.3 socket set screw for general mechanical assemblies requiring a 1/4-28 UNF thread and knurled cup point contact.
Installation is performed by machinists, millwrights, or maintenance technicians using a 1/8-inch hex key. Before installation, de-energize and lock out any machinery where the set screw will be installed per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Thread the screw into the tapped hole by hand before applying torque to avoid cross-threading. Do not substitute a larger or smaller hex key, as improper fit can round the drive socket.
