The VALUE COLLECTION 111029936 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for general-purpose external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Carrying the ANSI insert code SPG421 and ISO insert code SPG120304, this insert features a square (S-shape) geometry with a 90-degree included angle and an 11-degree relief angle for positive side clearance. The substrate is solid carbide with a CVD-applied dual-layer TiC and TiN coating, corresponding to manufacturer grade TCN55 and material grades C5, C6, and C7. Inscribed circle diameter is 0.5 inches and insert thickness is 0.125 inches, with a corner radius of 0.0157 inches (1/64 inch). The flat-top chip breaker geometry suits a wide range of feed rates and depths of cut.
This insert is suited for turning stainless steel and steel workpieces, indicated by primary workpiece material codes M and P. It fits toolholders and boring bars that accept SPG-style clamp-held inserts with a G tolerance and P clearance code. Typical applications include finishing and light roughing passes on turned components in job shop, production machining, and maintenance machining environments. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and CNC operators. This product is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units per order.
Compatible with SPG-style clamp-style toolholders and boring bars designed to accept ANSI SPG421 or ISO SPG120304 inserts. Suitable for workpiece materials classified under ISO material codes M (stainless steel) and P (carbon and alloy steel).
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine in a stopped and locked-out state per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the insert. Inspect the insert seat and clamp for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended depth of cut or feed rate for this insert geometry.
