The VALUE COLLECTION 101655BR is a cup point set screw designed for shaft-to-hub locking applications in mechanical assemblies. Manufactured from Grade 8 alloy steel, this fastener delivers high tensile strength and resistance to loosening under vibration and torque loads. The cup point geometry bites into the mating surface to create a positive lock without requiring a through-hole. It is driven with a 3/8-inch hex key and meets ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM F912 standards. Machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians install this type of fastener in production and field settings.
This set screw is suited for use in industrial machinery, conveyor systems, motor shaft collars, pulleys, sprockets, gears, and similar mechanical assemblies where a headless fastener is required. The 3/4-10 UNC thread size and 3/4-inch overall length make it appropriate for medium-to-heavy-duty shaft locking tasks in both OEM manufacturing and MRO replacement contexts.
Designed as a standard UNC set screw for use in any tapped 3/4-10 hole requiring a cup point, headless fastener per ASME/ANSI B18.3 specifications.
Installation is performed with a 3/8-inch hex key or T-handle driver. Ensure the mating shaft or hub is clean and free of debris before seating the fastener. De-energize and lock out any rotating equipment before installing or removing set screws on live shafts. Do not exceed the torque capacity of the alloy steel material; refer to published Grade 8 set screw torque charts for the 3/4-10 thread size.
