The VALUE COLLECTION 101583PR is a 1/2-13 x 2-inch cup point set screw manufactured from Grade 8 alloy steel. Set screws are fully threaded fasteners with no head, designed to secure a component — such as a collar, gear, or pulley — against a shaft by bearing directly against it. The cup point digs into the mating surface to resist rotation and axial movement. This screw uses a 1/4-inch hex key drive and conforms to ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM F912 standards. Maintenance technicians, millwrights, and mechanical assemblers install these in machine, industrial, and equipment applications where a low-profile, headless fastener is required.
This set screw is suited for use in mechanical power transmission assemblies, including shaft-mounted components such as shaft collars, sprockets, couplings, and pulleys. The 1/2-13 UNC thread and 2-inch overall length make it appropriate for moderate to heavy-duty clamping loads in industrial and commercial equipment. It is sold individually per package, with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces per order increment.
Designed as a standard inch-series UNC set screw for use in any tapped 1/2-13 hole requiring a cup point, headless fastener per ASME/ANSI B18.3 specifications.
Installation is performed by millwrights, mechanical technicians, or qualified assemblers using a 1/4-inch hex key or Allen driver. Ensure the tapped hole is clean and free of debris before installation. Do not exceed the recommended seating torque for the Grade 8 alloy steel material and thread size as specified in applicable fastener standards. Applying a thread-locking compound may be appropriate in high-vibration environments based on application requirements.
