The VALUE COLLECTION 101461P is a cup point set screw designed for secure component locking in mechanical assemblies. It features a 3/8-16 UNC thread and measures 1 inch in overall length. The cup point tip bites into a shaft or mating surface to resist rotational and axial movement under load. Driven by a 3/16 inch hex key, this fastener is manufactured from Grade 8 alloy steel, providing high tensile strength suitable for demanding industrial and mechanical applications. It conforms to ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM F912 standards. Machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians commonly specify this fastener for shaft collars, pulleys, gears, and similar assemblies.
This set screw is suited for use in mechanical power transmission assemblies where positive shaft retention is required. Typical applications include securing collars, sprockets, sheaves, and hubs to shafts in industrial equipment, HVAC fan assemblies, pump drives, and general machinery. The cup point geometry provides a balance of holding power and shaft surface contact, making it appropriate for both hardened and unhardened shaft materials. This fastener is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces.
Designed as a standard 3/8-16 UNC cup point set screw conforming to ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM F912, compatible with any tapped hole or component specified to this thread size and fastener standard.
Installation is performed by machinists, millwrights, or qualified maintenance technicians using a 3/16 inch hex key or Allen driver. De-energize and lock out all rotating equipment before installing or adjusting set screws. Ensure the tapped hole is clean and free of debris before threading the fastener in by hand to avoid cross-threading. Do not exceed the rated seating torque for the thread size and grade as specified in applicable mechanical standards.
