The VALUE COLLECTION 101267PR is a 10-24 x 1 inch cup point set screw manufactured from Grade 8 alloy steel. Set screws are headless fasteners used to secure a component — such as a collar, pulley, sprocket, or gear — against a shaft or mating surface. The cup point digs into the mating surface to resist rotational and axial movement. Drive is a 3/32 inch hex (Allen) socket. This screw is manufactured to ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM F912 standards, making it suitable for applications requiring dimensional and mechanical property compliance. Installed by maintenance technicians, millwrights, HVAC mechanics, and electricians wherever shaft retention is required.
Cup point set screws in the 10-24 thread size are commonly used in light-duty to medium-duty mechanical assemblies. Typical applications include securing sheaves and pulleys on motor shafts, locking collars on conveyor and fan shaft assemblies, and fastening knobs or handles to threaded components. The Grade 8 alloy steel construction provides the torsional strength needed to withstand vibration and loading in HVAC blower assemblies, pump drive trains, and general industrial equipment. Thread form is UNC (Unified National Coarse), the standard used across most North American mechanical trade applications.
Designed as a standard 10-24 UNC cup point set screw for use in any threaded bore or tapped hole accepting 10-24 thread. Suitable for replacement or stock use in mechanical assemblies requiring ASME/ANSI B18.3 compliant headless fasteners.
De-energize and lock out any equipment before servicing shaft-mounted components. Use a 3/32 inch hex key to drive the set screw; do not substitute an undersized key, as this risks rounding the socket. Tighten until the cup point is firmly seated against the shaft surface. Follow applicable facility maintenance procedures and equipment manufacturer torque guidance when available.
