The VALUE COLLECTION 1-THN-37F is a hex lock nut with a nylon insert, designed to resist loosening under vibration and dynamic load. It features a 3/8-24 UNF right-hand thread and is manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel for corrosion resistance in wet, chemical-exposed, or outdoor environments. Standing 17/64 inches high with a 9/16-inch width across flats, this nut accepts a standard hex wrench or socket for installation. The nylon insert creates an interference fit against the mating fastener threads, providing a prevailing-torque locking action without the need for adhesive or secondary locking hardware. HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical trades use this style of fastener across a wide range of assembly and equipment-mounting applications.
This nut is suited for use in residential and light commercial mechanical assemblies where thread loosening from vibration or thermal cycling is a concern. Typical applications include equipment panel mounting, bracket and frame assembly, conduit and pipe hanger systems, and general service work where a reusable locking fastener in a corrosion-resistant material is required. The 3/8-24 UNF thread pitch is a fine-thread designation commonly found on precision assemblies and structural fastener applications in trade work.
Designed as a standard UNF hex lock nut for use with 3/8-24 right-hand threaded bolts and studs in general mechanical and trade assembly applications.
Install and remove using a standard hex wrench or socket sized to 9/16 inches across flats. De-energize and isolate any equipment before servicing fasteners on electrical or mechanical assemblies. The nylon insert may show wear after multiple removal and reinstallation cycles; replace the nut if the locking action is noticeably reduced. Follow applicable codes and equipment manufacturer torque requirements when assembling structural or load-bearing connections.
