The VALUE COLLECTION 0695820 is a screw machine length stub drill bit built from cobalt high-speed steel for demanding metal drilling applications. At a shorter-than-standard body length, this bit delivers greater rigidity and reduced deflection compared to jobber-length drills, making it well suited to high-feed drilling in tough materials. The 135-degree split point geometry allows the bit to start cutting on contact without center-punching, reducing setup time on the floor. Two regular-spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently, and a straw finish provides light oxidation resistance. The straight shank seats in standard drill chucks without adapters. Weighing 0.03 pounds, it is a compact, tool-room-ready unit.
Screw machine length drill bits are a standard choice in machining, metal fabrication, and maintenance shops where short-reach drilling in steel, cast iron, stainless, and similar ferrous alloys is required. The cobalt composition makes this bit appropriate for harder workpiece materials that would quickly dull conventional HSS tooling. It is equally at home in a drill press, CNC machining center, or hand-held drill motor. Machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary users of this bit style. Right-hand cutting direction is compatible with all standard spindle rotation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use stub drill bit for standard straight-shank drill chucks used in drill presses, machining centers, and hand-held drill motors performing screw machine length drilling operations in ferrous and similar hard materials.
This bit is installed by a machinist or industrial maintenance technician. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully into the drill chuck and tighten securely before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material to extend tool life; this bit does not support through-coolant delivery.
